Privacy Policy — MikeFoodCoach
Effective date: October 7, 2026
MikeFoodCoach is published by QuesGen Systems, Inc. (Dallas, Texas, USA). This policy explains what information the app handles and what we do with it. The short version: your food log lives on your iPhone, we keep as little as possible, and we never sell or share your data for advertising.
What stays on your iPhone
Your meal log, day notes, targets, check-in history, and settings are stored on your device. We do not keep a copy of them on our servers. If you delete the app, that data is deleted with it (export it first from Settings → Export my data if you want to keep it).
Voice input is transcribed on the device by Apple's speech recognition, and the coach's spoken replies are generated on the device. Recordings of your voice are not sent to us.
What is sent to our server, and why
When you talk to the coach — by text, voice transcript, or meal photo — that message, the recent conversation, and a one-line summary of your day so far (for example, "1,450 kcal and 80 g protein logged") are sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which forwards them to Anthropic (the AI provider that powers the coach) to generate the reply and nutrition estimate.
- We do not store your messages, photos, or the coach's replies on our server. They pass through to generate the response and are gone.
- Anthropic processes this content as a service provider under its commercial terms, which do not permit it to train AI models on this data.
- To operate fairly and prevent abuse, our server keeps a daily request counter per account. That counter — an account identifier and a number — is the only per-user record our server keeps, and it is deleted automatically after a few days.
Your account
You can use Sign in with Apple to create an account. We receive your Apple account identifier and, if you share it, your first name — nothing else. We use the identifier only to recognize your subscription and apply the daily usage limit. Before signing in (or if you never do), the app uses a random identifier created on your device for the same purpose; it is not connected to your name or Apple account.
Apple Health
If you turn on Health sync, the app writes your meals' calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fat to Apple Health. The app does not read anything from Apple Health, and Health data is never sent to us.
Subscriptions and payments
Subscriptions are billed by Apple through your Apple account. We never see your payment details. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
What we don't do
- No advertising, and no tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
- No sale of personal information, and no sharing of it for marketing.
- No use of your content to train AI models — by us or by our AI provider.
Children
MikeFoodCoach is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Health disclaimer
MikeFoodCoach is a nutrition-tracking and coaching aid, not a medical service. Nutrition figures are estimates. For medical questions, or before changing how you eat, consult a doctor or registered dietitian.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and note it in the app. The effective date above always reflects the current version.
This website and the launch list
If you join the launch list, we store the email address (and first name, if you give one) you submit, along with the submission time, solely to tell you when MikeFoodCoach launches and to operate the list (for example, removing addresses on request). We don't send anything else, and we never sell or share the list.
To be removed at any time, email appstore@quesgen.com from the address you signed up with.
This site sets a session cookie (for form security) and no advertising or analytics trackers.
